Practical production resource

Video production proposal template

A proposal helps a client understand the approach you are recommending. Connect the creative idea to the business need, then make the scope, investment and decision process clear.

Explain why this approach fits

Summarise the audience, objective and intended use in language the client recognises. Describe the proposed format, contributors and creative approach. Explain why those choices support the objective instead of listing equipment without context.

If you include examples of your work, make clear what is comparable: the tone, interview approach, output format or production scale. Do not imply that an example’s complete scope is included unless it is.

Separate the idea from the commitment

Use the scope section to name the actual deliverables, production allowance, revisions and client responsibilities. The proposal can describe a creative direction while the quote defines the work being priced.

State assumptions, timing dependencies and the next approval step. Keep supporting terms in the documents your company normally uses for commercial agreements.

Keep the accepted version findable

Put the production reference and version on the proposal. When the client accepts, retain the actual agreed scope and evidence of approval. If another option is selected later, record that decision explicitly.

The CRM supports written scope, structured films and versions, scope checks and versioned quotes. Accepted work remains fixed, with later changes recorded as separate priced variations. It does not yet build designed proposal decks, interactive option-selection pages or electronic-signature certificates.

Use the template

Adapt the fields to your own production and review the details before sharing it with a client.

Common questions

Is a proposal different from a quote?

A proposal explains the recommended approach and value. A quote defines the priced scope. They can sit in one document, but both jobs still need to be done clearly.

Can I download this as a designed PDF?

The supplied download is plain text for your own document tool. The current CRM stores quote text and line items rather than designing proposal decks.
